Salting

The salting step is performed using salting machines developed by Ramoga. A rigorous study led Ramoga to design and construct the most adequate machines to each of our needs and processes.

The salting agent used is a combination of two chemicals also supplied by reference companies in the European market:

A mixture of these two chemicals is introduced in the machine hoper, the animal skins are taken out of the cold room, placed, one by one in the treadmill machine where they are automatically salted. They are then removed on the other side of the machine and placed again in adequate structures where they are left leaching during around two days. They are finally stored in refrigerated chambers and well-conditioned in bales ready to ship to our customers.
