We process and trade sheep, goat and goatling skins and cow hides of exclusively Portuguese origin. We also deal with lamb skins of the highest quality, but mostly of Spanish origin; nevertheless, the livestock is slaughtered and skinned in Portugal under very close supervision (and most of the times even the active involvement) of our team of experts.
Skinstra is a reference in the sector: we have the best infrastructures of the industry in Portugal, and our chain of cold is maintained throughout the whole production system: from point of collection (slaughterhouses) to its facilities. Transport is ensured by refrigerated trucks at temperatures between 2ºC and 7ºC and skins are hung in adequate inox steel structures to keep the air flowing and avoid putrefaction of the merchandise.
Upon arrival of the animal skins to our premises they are transferred to yet another cold room environment where they are kept hanging until the next step: salting.
